Yield your horse’s hindquarters in a 180 turn on the forehand – with your arms folded.

Back up your horse by softly flapping your feet. (Don’t use your reins).

Ride a figure 8 at the walk with your arms folded. If that’s easy, try trot!

Stop your horse from a trot or canter by softly flapping your feet. (Don’t use your reins).

Ride 4 walk – trot transitions on a circle (approx. 10 steps of each).

Ride 4 trot – canter transitions on a circle (making the transition every half circle: trot half a circle, canter half a circle.
Circling
Basic
Ride a circle with one hand on the rein. Use your headlights to turn.Stay equi-distant from a center marker. Circles, not eggs or triangles! ;)

Ride a Figure 8 with one rein (supple rein) – at the trot - without changing your rein to the other side!

Ride sideways over a pole, left and right.

Ride 4 zig zags, from marker to marker… at the trot. Keep your horse’s body straight!

Squeeze
Basic
On a loose rein, walk through two barrels placed 4-5’ apart. Stop, turn, wait. Repeat.
Advanced
Trot on a line approx. 6’ from the rail. Stop, back up, turn towards the fence and repeat the other way. Make sure you stay on the same line, do not curve inwards or outwards… stay straight!
